I remember going to the cinema all the time with my parents when I was a child and it’s something I would love to do with my children, but I know that there is no way they would ever be able to sit still for long enough to watch a movie. The thought of getting them to sit still for over an hour exhausts me! So when we were given the opportunity to have our own cinema experience at home, I knew this was something I could not pass up, and with it being Peppa Pig I knew Keira, Joshua and Zara would love it! So we had our very own Peppa Pig first cinema experience.
We were sent a huge box of amazing goodies to help us have our home cinema experience. We had Peppa Pig biscuits, juice, a blanket and pillow, a Peppa Pig Inflatable Night Light , a magazine, some colouring pens, a big foil balloon, the Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience DVD, personalised Peppa Pig books from Penwizard and lots more goodies! The kids loved pulling the bits out of the box and seeing what surprises lay within. The morning was filled with wow’s and “OH MY GOODNESS!!” (Keira’s favourite sentence at the moment). Once the excitement died down, Keira and Joshua snuggled down on the floor with their Peppa Pig blanket, biscuits and juice to get their cinema experience started now that Peppa Pig’s My First Cinema Experience is available on digital download and DVD.
The DVD contains 9 brand new Peppa Pig episodes were we see Peppa and friends have a tour of London on a double decker driven by the Queen, take a trip to see their friends in Australia, visit a zoo, sail on a canal boat with Captain Daddy Dog and meet the police! It also features the voices of Jo Brand and David Mitchell (2 of my favourite comedians). In between each episode we meet Daisy, Peppa and George who have a range of activities to get little ones up and out of their seats. These include games, dancing and sing-a-longs to our favourite nursery rhymes.
What I love about this DVD is that your children aren’t just sitting there watching the screen, they actually can interact with the characters and get up and move. My kids love having a dance around the living so it’s perfect, especially when they have well known nursery rhymes, like The Wheels on the Bus and Row Row Row Your Boat, for them to sing-a-long too.
Can we just talk about these Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle biscuits?! They are one of the yummiest biscuits I have ever tasted, I’m surprised the children even got to eat some, and dunking them in a chocolate sauce was heaps of fun for the children. On the DVD is a super catchy song about jumping in muddy puddles, so of course Keira had a blast dunking her biscuits whilst singing the song. It was fab!
And finally, a mentioned about these fabulous books from Penwizard. I LOVE them, as do the children. They love that they are involved in the book and are amoung Peppa and her friends. It is a great idea. We love snuggling up on the sofa and reading so this is perfect for Keira, Joshua and Zara. Joshua’s book was a favourite because we didn’t see his character until the end and it was like an adventure to find him with Peppa.
