Moon Sand | Crafts

I got this one off Pinterest and it looks super cool. Although mine is a bit more crumbly than it sound be as I didn’t have enough ingredients but it works and it’s super simple to make! Both kids loved playing with it especially as it was raining outside!

So this stuff is super easy to make! All you need is:

  • 1 cup of baby oil
  • 8 cups of plain flour
Then you just mix them together until you get a sand like consistency. You should be able to pick up the mixture, without it being sticky, and mould it in your hand.

Once you break into it, the mixture should crumble turning back to sand like.

Joshua did try to eat the moon sand but I don’t think it tasted as nice as he hoped as he never tried to eat it again! It smells rather pleasant too but I put that down to the baby oil used!

So this was a success for my kiddies, a lovely little rainy day activity that kept them both entertained for ages! You can also store it to use at a later date, just keep it in an airtight container! Perfect to reuse over and over!

I think it's great to have things you can seal up and reuse! Mine are a little old for this now, but it's a fab idea. #TwinklyTuesday
