No More Frumpy Mummy with JD Williams
Ever since having children, I seem to have lost my desire to keep up with the latest fashion trends. In fact my clothing choice is definitely more comfort over style these days. When I purchase new clothes I always reach for a pair of jeans or leggings and a t-shirt but lately it’s making me feel so frumpy and just uncool. So when I was asked by the lovely team at JD Williams if I’d like to choose some items for a post, I knew this was the time to unfrump myself and find my inner cool!
My first choice was this beautiful maxi dress. JD Williams havea gorgeous collection of dresses and although many assume that a maxi dress is for the summer months, I think it can be worn at all times of the year as well as being dressed up or down. They are super comfortable and you get such an amazing sense of freedom and comfort. I always worry about maxi dresses because I’m not the tallest person in the world, in fact I’m only 5ft 2″ but this fitted perfectly in the length. It just about touched the floor, so I will probably get it turned up an inch or 2 but I was so impressed with the fit.
The colour is the first thing that attracted me to this maxi dress, I know that everyone favours rose gold and I am definitely a fan of this colour, but the gold thread in the dress just makes it even more gorgeous. There is no way I feel frumpy in this and when I wear it, I almost feel like I’m my former self again and that I actually can pull off a dress like this. Cool mum alert!
Now, I have always been a sandals person. In fact if I could wear sandals all year round, I probably would. They are just so comfortable! JD Williams have an amazing range of sandals and there were so many to choose from, it was hard to pick just one pair. But I did and I chose these. THEY ARE RIDICULOUSLY COMFORTABLE! I cannot express just how comfortable they are. I think that they’re supposed to lace up your leg, but whenever I tried to do it they kept falling down so maybe I was doing something wrong. I just wrapped them around my ankle a few times but it worked and they looked great. The brown/tan colour goes really well with the maxi dress so I certainly feel like I’m in the cool mum club whilst wearing these.
The last item I chose was this gorgeous skirt. Now I’m not usually one for skirts, simply because I never know what the wear with them, but I actually really loved this one and I felt amazing in it. From the colour to the lightweight material and even the split up the side of the leg, this skirt is the perfect clothing choice to break out of that rut. There is no signs of frumpiness at all with this piece.
The JD Williams site is so user friendly and it’s super easy to navigate through. I love that they have an amazing range of clothing and footwear for women of all sizes and the prices are so reasonable for the quality that you receive. They also have a homewear section that I have created a wishlist for as soon as I am able to update our bedroom!
I was sent these items free for the purpose of this review, however all opinions are my own. For more information, please see my Disclosure page.
