I love this time of year now that I have children, not to mention Keira’s birthday at the end of the month. It makes me so happy to know that she’ll be another year older just after we’ve celebrated Christmas. We put our tree up on the night of 30th November so that it was ready for 1st December, as soon as the children were in bed we cracked on to surprise them in the morning.
I like to keep my tree simple with lots of tree on show and absolutely no tinsel. Tinsel really bugs me!! We have red, silver and white baubles and warm white lights to brighten our 6ft artificial tree. We also have a Santa hat on the top, Keira’s idea, and a ‘my first Christmas’ heart for Joshua (which was originally Keira’s for her first Christmas last year) and a little felt envelope that Keira can put her letter to Santa in. We have recently purchased another little ornament that says ‘my first Christmas’, I couldn’t help myself!
I’ve already wrapped all the presents that we’ve bought, so I don’t have to do them on Christmas eve!
