36 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #3

36 weeks: Your baby is about the size of a head of romaine lettuce
Your not-so-little lettuce now measures more than 18 1/2 inches from head to heel and weighs almost 6 pounds (and is still packing it on at a rate of about an ounce a day).

Ahh I’m literally in that last stretch of my pregnancy and I honestly cannot wait for it to be over now. This has definitely been the most testing of pregnancies, between being in and out of hospital as well as lack of sleep I can say I’m feeling ready for baby to be here now! At least the weather’s calmed down and it isn’t so hot any more.

SYMPTOMS Oh we’ve had a wide range of symptoms this week, mainly achey joints. Every joint in my body aches, my knees and shoulders are the worst. This is what causes me to lose out on sleep. I’ve been taking a bit of paracetamol to see if that will help and it does, but not for very long. It’s like an all night thing, they only way it feels better is if I constantly keep moving. So really it’s like having restless leg syndrome all over my body! I’ve been very crampy this past week too, definitely feel the cramps more now that I normally have. Extra stretching or signs of my body getting ready? Who knows! As well as those, I’ve had loads of really good braxton hicks, some I’ve even had to question as to whether they could be but they disappear before I can give it a second thought.
APPOINTMENTS Of course, this week I had my blood flow and doppler scan. However on Monday little miss decided she was going to have a quiet day and we ended up going to the hospital to be checked for reduced movements. It was literally the longest wait I’d ever had! But everything was okay and her heartbeat was just fine, the doctors weren’t concerned at all with her trace so we were sent home but they moved our doppler scan to the next day so they could check to make sure everything was okay, which it was! So now I just have my growth scan at 36+4 weeks and that should be the last one! I should also get my induction date, or at least I hope I do because me and Darren would like a date night before little miss arrives!

FEELING A lot more prepared! I’ve finally packed my hospital bag and baby’s bag is almost finished, she just needs some water wipes and we’re all done! We’ve got our double pushchair now so we just need a swing chair and a baby! I’m definitely feeling a bit anxious about having another baby, I’m constantly worrying about how I’m going to cope with 3 little ones but I’m sure I’ll be fine!
BABY She’s doing well, she still has no name so we really do need to sort that out although I’m pretty sure it won’t be decided until she’s here! The midwives love seeing her on the ultrasound because every time we’ve been she’s always had a full bladder and they find it ever so funny!
EXCITED ABOUT I just want her here now so that I can get myself into the swing of things! I’m definitely excited to see who she looks like and how much hair she’s going to have! I also can’t wait to see how Keira and Joshua are going to react to her. Keira is forever asking me to take her out of my belly because she wants to give little sister a cuddle and rock her to sleep haha!
You can also watch the update on my YouTube channel, it contains some cute shots of Joshua!
