27 weeks: Your baby is about the size of a head of cauliflower
Your baby is now as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds and measuring roughly 14 1/2 inches.
I don’t really think there’s anything new to add this week. The heartburn that I did have, briefly, hasn’t returned and I’ve been feeling overall great! Can’t get rid of the backache but it’s something I’ll live with till the end.
I get some Braxton hicks, but I only really notice them when I’ve had a busy day. I have noticed that I get the urge to clean the house every now and then. I guess it’s part of nesting. Like I just want the house ready for when she’s here.
I’ve started buying some clothes for her. Just some vests and sleepsuits at the moment. I doubt I’ll buy any outfits for her in newborn size, maybe when she’s around 3 months I’ll look at outfits. Sleepsuits are far more comfortable and convenient for those first few months. I’ve also started looking at a new swing for her. We sold the one the one that we used for Keira and Joshua so we need a new one, there are so many options to choose from!
But that’s it as far as updates go! Hospital appointment next week and we’ll be able to see how things are progressing!
For now, here’s a shot of the bump! I feel like I’ve grown quite a bit since last week but maybe that’s down to how she’s lying. I definitely like I’m carrying a lot lower this time than I did with Keira and Joshua but that’s probably just down to my weakened stomach muscles.
